Adventure in Seattle, Washington — Coffee, Coastlines, and Cloudy Skies

Seattle surprised me in the best way. I thought I was going for the coffee and skyline views, but I left with a love for cloudy mornings, fresh seafood, and indie bookstores on every block. If you’re planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest, Seattle is the cozy, coastal city that knows how to treat you right.

🛬 Day 1: Pike Place and That Famous Fish Toss

First stop? Pike Place Market. Yeah, it’s touristy—but also amazing. I watched the fish guys toss salmon like pros (you’ve seen the videos), then wandered through stalls of fresh flowers, handmade soaps, and local honey.

I grabbed a creamy clam chowder bread bowl at Pike Place Chowder, then walked over to the Gum Wall—yep, it’s gross. Yep, I took pictures anyway.

I ended my first night at Kerry Park. It’s a tiny overlook with a view that feels way too big for such a small space. Watching the sun go down over the skyline with Mount Rainier in the background? Unreal.

☁️ Day 2: Rainy Mornings and Rooftop Coffee

Seattle mornings are made for slow starts. I grabbed coffee at Elm Coffee Roasters (skip Starbucks this time—go local), and watched the drizzle hit the windows. Sounds dull? It’s actually calming.

Afterward, I headed to Chihuly Garden and Glass. I’m not usually a glass art person, but this place was insane—colorful, strange, and kind of magical. Next door is the Space Needle, which you should definitely go up, even if you’re afraid of heights like me.

For lunch, I tried salmon tacos at a waterfront spot called Elliott’s Oyster House—fresh, flavorful, and right by the water. I could’ve stayed there all afternoon.

That night I took a ferry ride across Puget Sound. Not because I had to—just because it’s peaceful. The view of the city at night from the water is postcard-worthy.

📚 Day 3: Books, Boats, and Goodbyes

I spent the last day exploring Capitol Hill—Seattle’s artsy, indie neighborhood. I spent way too long (and too much money) at Elliott Bay Book Company, then strolled through Volunteer Park and popped into the conservatory for a dose of greenery.

Before heading to the airport, I made one last stop: Fremont. It’s quirky and fun, home to the famous Fremont Troll (yep, under a bridge) and a bunch of cool murals. I grabbed one final cup of local roast and just sat by the canal, watching boats glide by and locals walk their dogs like it was just another day in paradise.
